This lush Technicolor film noir stars the luminously lethal Gene Tierney as a woman so driven by insatiable devotion to her man that she destroys all around her, including herself.

Cinematographer Leon Shamroy won the 1946 Academy Award for some of the most ravishing colour scenes committed to film; the screen positively vibrates with venal, psychotic passions under a veneer of high tension, high gloss Hollywood melodrama. Imported 35mm print restored by the Academy Film Archive and Twentieth Century Fox.
