Monsoon (Barsaat)
After the success of Fire (Aag) came Kapoor's first mega-hit, Monsoon (Barsaat).
The story shuffles between romantic idealist Pran (Kapoor) and his more carnally driven best friend Gopal (Prem Nath).
Monsoon brought together Kapoor's enduring team of collaborators including composers Shankar and Jaikshen, lyricists Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri, cinematographer Radhu Karmakar, art director M.R. Achrekar, playback singers Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh (who sang the songs Raj Kapoor mimed to), and his leading lady, Nargis.
