| The Woman with the Red Boots |
Undaunted by his father Luis Buñuel's reputation for cinematic surrealism, Juan Luis Buñuel invests his own hallucinatory fantasy with stylistic flourishes and filmic sleight of hand.
Catherine Deneuve plays a writer, Françoise le Roi, who enters the circle of an elderly millionaire, Perrot (Buñuel regular, Fernando Rey).
When Perrot's manipulations finally prove tiresome, Françoise draws on some very useful supernatural powers to restore order.
Something of a curio, the film was one Deneuve herself liked, although it did not serve the younger Buñuel's directorial aspirations particularly well.
