This King Kong satire is an episode from a cartoon series about a happy-go-lucky dog created by cartoonist Walter Lantz.

Pooch the Pup goes to Africa with his girlfriend to make a movie about a giant gorilla. Proceeding apace with the feature film, King Klunk attacks a native village and fights with a dinosaur before eventually plummeting from atop the Empire State Building.

Coming only six months after the release of King Kong, it not only lampoons the feature but also the popularity of ethnographic adventure films like those of King Kong directors Merian C Cooper and Ernest B Schoedsack.
