A classic action and adventure film, the original King Kong follows Hollywood 'alpha male' director Carl Denham, his team of explorers and Ann Darrow (Fay Wray) to mysterious Skull Island.

Using Ann as both leading lady and bait, the director hopes to lure King Kong into his latest film.

Denham's decision to capture the giant ape for live shows back home leads to the unforgettable duel to the death atop the Empire State Building in New York.

A fascinating insight into the anxieties and desires of 1930s Depression-era America, the original King Kong has inspired a plethora of remakes and adaptations.
