River Of Grass
Drawing comparisons to Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and Two-Lane Blacktop (1971), Reichardt's first feature centres on the hapless fortunes of two wannabe outlaws who are out of money and on the run.
Fed up with her suburban existence, Cozy (Lisa Bowman) cuts lose with aimless drifter Lee (Larry Fessenden). Drifting amongst the strip malls and shabby motels of Florida (Reichardt's home state), Cozy and Lee get drunk and do some pool hopping... then a gun goes off!
Described by The Village Voice as "not for squares", Reichardt's rarely-seen debut is not to be missed.
"One of the year's smartest indies" - J. Hoberman, Village Voice
