In The Mood For Love and flirting with time travel and the sci-fi genre, Wong Kar-wai's much anticipated
2046 centres on novelist Mo Wan (the ever-dashing Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and his dalliances with several women played by reigning Asian screen goddesses Gong Li, Ziyu Zhang (
House of Flying Daggers), Faye Wong, Carina Lau and Maggie Cheung (in a brief cameo).
The film's emotional core is heightened by a superb score courtesy of Shigeru Umebayashi and Fassbinder's favourite composer Peer Raben.
