Fallen Angels
Originally planned as the final of three storylines for Chungking Express, Wong Kar-wai expanded the tale of an archetypal hit man and his lonely agent to create the kinetically charged Fallen Angels.

In what some have called his most abstract film, Wong creates a riot of sound and colour that pounds from the screen in a series of tightly packed vignettes featuring Leon Lai, Michele Reis, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Charlie Young.

The mayhem is heightened by Christopher Doyle's mercurial camerawork and the standout cutting of editor William Chang.

'Watching Fallen Angels feels a little like being shot out of a pinball machine and bounced around the Hong Kong equivalent of Times Square in its former honky-tonk glory.' The New York Times
