Artist Statement - Hossein Valamanesh
'Using X-ray images from an angiogram of my heart in From The Heart, I manipulate the speed of the images, slowing down the heartbeat and working with the density of these images to create a moon-like image combining different angles of the heart. The sound accompanying the images is the heartbeat and the first line of a poem by Rumi, the 13th-century poet, reads in Farsi: "I hope I have achieved a moody image of horror and hope".' |
