With computer game characters now as identifiable as those from film and literature, Sonic The Hedgehog is not simply a household name - he is a contemporary icon.
Born in 1991 for Sega's super-fast Sega Mega Drive game console, Sonic The Hedgehog made a speedy dash to success and stardom.
And Sonic shows no signs of slowing. In June 2005, Sonic turned 14, a luminary in an industry that is just over thirty years old.
