A curious cross between a violent thriller and a sympathetic exploration of biker lifestyle, Sandy Harbutt's only feature film follows undercover cop Stone (Ken Shorter) sent to investigate when several members of the Grave Diggers motorcycle gang are murdered.
Clearly influenced by the visual style of
Easy Rider,
Stone was shot in late 1973 in and around Sydney (including the Forth & Clyde Hotel in Balmain - an old bikie haunt).
Features spectacular stunt work from Peter Armstrong and a mesmerising score by Billy Green.
