Tall poppies grow here.

Calling all budding artists, designers, media makers and IT whiz kids in Victoria in Years 10, 11 and 12! Apply now for ACMI Hothouse, where skills and creativity grow.

ACMI Hothouse 2012 explores game making and design. If selected, you will spend one week of the July school holidays in a fast paced creative studio.

As one of just ten lucky students, you will be placed in a team of creative artists and programmers, and together you will learn how to design and create an iPhone game. Professional game designers will give you hands-on experience and career advice and you'll get the chance to meet some of the world's best game makers, set to visit Australia in July for the ACMI Game Masters exhibition.

You don't need games or programming experience to apply! It takes all kinds of creativity to make a game, from character design and concept art to computer programming. So whether you're an artist exploring what to do with your talents, a dedicated gamer, or an IT whiz, this is an amazing opportunity.

How to apply: Please download and complete the ACMI Hothouse Application Kit. Applications have now been extended and close on Thursday 31 May, 2012. Apply now!

Please email hothouse@acmi.net.au if you have any questions.

Does it cost anything? No! The Hothouse is free, though limited to applicants who are selected. Application is also free.
