Buffalo Girls
In Thailand, it is estimated that up to 30,000 children are involved in underground child-boxing tournaments, entering the ring in an attempt to win money for their families and pull them out of poverty.
Buffalo Girls is the story Stam and Pet, two eight year old girls who are contesting for a title and desperate to win. Training everyday, both know that a lot is at stake in this winner-takes-all competition.
Shot over a three-year period, during which the film's director Todd Kellstein worked to gain the trust of the girls and their families, this documentary provides a unique insight into the controversial world of child-boxing.
Features a Q&A session with Co-Producer Christel Cornilsen.
