Professor Johnson is Adjunct Professor of Contemporary Music Studies at Macquarie University (NSW), Visiting Professor of Music at Glasgow University (Scotland), Docent and Visiting Professor, Department of Cultural History at the University of Turku (Finland) and 2008 and 2009 National Film and Sound Archive of Australia Fellow.
