Howl's Moving Castle

Hayao Miyazaki, the award-winning director of Spirited Away, returns with Howl's Moving Castle, a feature-length animation based on the book of the same name by British author Diana Wynne Jones.

Young Sophie works in a milliner's shop in a fantastical turn-of-the-century European village. Incurring the wrath of the jealous Witch of the Waste, Sophie is transformed into a ninety-year-old woman, sending Sophie into a spin. She must rely on Howl, an enigmatic young man who happens to be a wizard, to break the spell.

Screens in an English-language version. Howl's Moving Castle is the first of four Studio Ghiblis films that have been requested recently and will be screening over the school holidays. It was requested by Sabrina, Holly and Liesl who will each receive a $25 gift voucher from the ACMI Store.
