Giant, robotic, alien forms fly menacingly over New York City, wreaking destruction in their path. Chronicle reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) is determined to get the story, so she enlists the help of her reluctant ex boyfriend, ace aviator Jo 'Sky Captain' Sullivan (Jude Law).
Aided by 'Franky' (Angelina Jolie), the commander of an all-female amphibious squad, and tech-head, Dex (Giovanni Ribisi), the fearless duo embark on a mission to destroy the evil mastermind Dr Totenkopf, before he destroys the planet!
