The King of Pigs (Dae gi eui wang)
After his business goes bankrupt, 30-something Kyung-Min (Oh Jung-Se) reacts in anger, killing his wife. Burying his rage, he seeks out his former classmate Jong-Suk (Yang Ik-June). Meeting again after 15 years, Kyung-Min and Jong-Suk both hide their own current situations as they reflect on their younger days.
When they remember Chul, a mysterious outsider who once stood up for them, this provocative story of class difference and social status is set in motion with the film gradually revealing the lingering effects of their brutal childhood.
This low-budget yet stylistically sharp animation was director Yeun Sang-ho's sole project since 1998. It marks both his directorial debut, and a new direction for Korean animation in general.
