Fat People (Gordos)
Fat People is at times politically incorrect and gleefully cruel, but often heart-warmingly funny, and represents an honest and witty interpretation of society's prejudices and obsession with appearances.
A collection of overweight characters commence group therapy in a quest to overcome their body image issues. As they grapple with their fears, insecurities and guilt, they all begin to understand the façades they create in an attempt to ignore or live with their contradictions.
Directed by Spain's Daniel Sánchez Arévalo (
Dark Blue Almost Black), this weighty comedy-drama traces the group members' tumultuous journeys with unexpected results.
