Son & Moon (Diario de un astronauta)

Son & Moon is a unique and sensitive documentary that depicts Spanish astronaut Michael López Alegría's long-distance relationship with his seven-year-old son.

Providing a fascinating insight into the life of an astronaut fulfilling a mission at the International Space Station, the film also explores the difficulties he faces as a father attempting to maintain contact with his family.

Director Manuel Huerga (Salvador Puig Antich) approaches the topic from an unusual point of view, skilfully intertwining the extraordinary and the everyday, spectacular space missions and intimate family conversations. A series of webcam exchanges between the astronaut in space and his son at home chronicle an affectionate dialogue that artfully portrays the most intimate side of life in orbit.
