Lest We Forget: Capturing Stories of Service
In partnership with the Shrine of Remembrance, this panel discussion and screening will explore the importance of documenting personal stories of war.
The partners involved in this event have been working on a major Victorian government project, capturing the personal accounts of over 200 Victorian Veterans as short documentaries and digital stories.
These stories are from those who have experienced World War II and conflicts in Vietnam, Korea, Malaya and Borneo, through to peacemaking, peacekeeping and current conflicts.
Join Jean McAuslan, Gallery Development Manager at the Shrine of Remembrance, author Marina Larsson, and Michael Veitch, along with guest speakers involved directly with the project as they discuss the importance of capturing personal accounts as a way to understand our war history. The panel will be chaired by Liz Beattie, Parliamentary Secretary for Veterans Affairs.
A complete screening will follow the discussion at 1pm, with looped screenings taking place over the ANZAC Day weekend.Watch
