first look and the melbourne fringe present lynch
As part of the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image will be presenting the Australian premiere of Lynch, a candid and revealing insight in to the world of mesmerising filmmaker David Lynch.
Responsible for distinctive classics including Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, the eccentric visionary let the cameras on set during the making of his 2006 epic Inland Empire, creating a cinematic diary of the director's creative workings.
Far from a conventional documentary, the result is a fly-on-the-wall portrait so intimate it has been speculated the director actually made it himself - something the curious director's credit, blackANDwhite, leaves open to conjecture.
