Meet Me at the Mango Tree
Meet Me at the Mango Tree combines three stories illustrating the fragile nature of day-to-day existence in Tamil Nadu, South India.
The first story follows Arumugam, an elderly man who has an ironing stall in a back lane of Chennai. His unhappy exile from his village as a boy is echoed by his son's troubled romance with a girl from a higher caste.
The second story follows Kannan, a younger man who digs for crabs and works for local farmers. Living in an unhappy home where he argues with his mother and fails to meet his father's expectations, Kannan secretly plans for a better future.
In the final story, Moni, a television repairman in a remote village, suffers health issues and has to contend with disgruntled customers wondering if their televisions will ever be fixed.
Brian McKenzie, the film's director, will be present at the screening.
