Even the Rain (También la lluvia)

This superb film about a crew blindsided by the real world was Spain's official entry in the 2011 Academy Awards and has been nominated for 13 Goya Awards.
Gael García Bernal plays Sebastián, a director shooting a film in Bolivia about the Spanish conquest of America. Set in 2000, when protests against the privatisation of water shocked the country, the film reflexively blurs the line between fiction and reality.
A richly layered, airtight script by Paul Laverty is superbly executed by director Icíar Bollaín with the aid of captivating cinematography and extraordinary performances by the entire cast.
