Phase 7 (Fase 7)

Directed by young filmmaker Nicolás Goldbart,
Phase 7 is an exhilarating example of contemporary Argentinean cinema.
In this distinctively different dark comedy, a young couple discover that their apartment building is to be immediately quarantined due to the outbreak of a deadly virus. The ensuing forced seclusion and isolation brings about a succession of outrageously hilarious events; alliances and conspiracies develop among the neighbours leading to an unexpected denouement.
Partly inspired by the swine flu outbreak in 2009, Goldbart has constructed a brilliant and delightful comedy that adds a new dimension - and a definite Hispanic accent - to the disaster film subgenre.
Following the screening, La Mirada invites you to join the closing night party with the finest Spanish food and wine, Argentinean beers and live music.
