The 2011 Melbourne Writers Festival celebrates all kinds of stories, from true tales to fantastic fiction.
For ten days, the festival hosts old favourites and new voices from all walks of literary life, as international, national and local writers come together to share stories, experiences and passion for the written word.
This year, Australia's premiere writers' festival hosts an eclectic mix of acclaimed and popular authors, graphic artists, social and cultural commentators, philosophers, poets, songwriters, screenwriters and historians. Special events include masterclasses, literary banquets, music performances, city walks and film screenings.
