Let's face it, unless you're Julie Andrews and your kids are the Von Trapps, school holidays can be really really hard work. How do you keep a little person with the attention span of a gnat happy and entertained? You can lock them in a room with a box of Star Wars Lego, but after Junior swallows Darth Vadar what are you going to do? Bring them into ACMI and they'll be distracted for hours and hours (and you won't even have to lock them up).
First, there's our mammoth (we're talking all three films here) Kids' Flicks Toy Story marathon, where you can watch the adventures of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang on the big screen in glorious 3D. Small fry will get a kick out of our free Kids in the Studio workshop where they can unleash their inner architect by working with local artists to create a 'Cardboard Utopia'. Older tweens and teens can join our popular three-day Make a Movie filmmaking workshop where they'll learn how to write, direct, act in and edit a short live-action film before attending their very own red carpet premiere.
Fuel your brood's energy at the ACMI Lounge with scrumptious kids' meals, then let them loose in the ACMI Store so they can spend their pocket money on all sorts of stuff from DVDs to books and cool knick knacks. In the words of a great hero: "To infinity and beyond!"
