Artist Mark Siebert
The acclaimed visual arts exhibition, Correspondences: Víctor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami, closes soon.
The exhibition has impressed and resonated with all who have seen it, with arts publication Real Time proclaiming it to be an "enchanting and engaging exhibition" that was "not to be missed", while The Age declared it to be simply "remarkable".
A beautiful visual arts display that explores the work of renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami and Spanish director Víctor Erice, Correspondences was conceived by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, to bring together the work of two visionaries of independent cinema.
With the theme 'Two filmmakers, two cultures, and a dialogue that brought them together', the exhibition demonstrates a shared humanity, humour, and artistic parallels between the two directors, through a collection of film, video, photography and paintings.
This Thursday, artist Mark Siebert hosts the final Correspondences event, Fan Letters, where he will perform 20 fan letters written but not sent to his favourite musicians. More information on the free event is here.
Your last chance to experience a genuinely unique exhibition, Correspondences: Víctor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami must close Sunday November 2nd. Find out more here.
ACMI will open a new exhibition, Setting the Scene: Film Design from Metropolis to Australia, on December 4.
This astonishing exhibition provides a behind-the-scenes examination of filmmaking via production design. Devoted to the work of film production designers, set designers and film architects, the exhibition pays homage to the artists behind many seminal works covering almost a century of cinema.
