Detail from a cyanotype by Julie Millowick, 'Christening dress'
You are invited to join in as we present special workshops exploring the art of Correspondence.
Correspondences: Victor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami is being widely recognised as a moving, emotive, intelligent and distinctive visual arts display. In its October/November edition, arts publication Real Time declares "it is simply an elegant and imaginatively installed exhibition", and one that is "not to be missed if you value the poetic and expressive possibilities of cinema". A feature in The Age (07/10/08) labelled Correspondences a "remarkable exhibition" that contextualised the work of "two of the world's great filmmakers".
Meanwhile a recent review in MCV states"Correspondences is a rich and evocative exhibition that invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the world of two uncompromising masters of cinema."
As part of the public programs associated with the exhibition, ACMI have programmed a series of correspondences workshops.
On Sunday October 12 and 19, photographer Julie Millowick presents free workshops in which participants will be shown how to make a cyanotype print.
Inviting participants to bring an object with personal relevance with them, Julie will help them create a timeless and intimate image using this vintage photographic process.
Closing in just three weeks, time to experience this Australian exclusive exhibition is almost running out, as Correspondences: Victor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami must close on Sunday, November 2nd.
