Melbourne audiences got well into gaming at ACMI this year
ACMI has been recognised with an award from the Interactive Entertainment Association of Australia for the exhibition Game On and its contribution to the industry.
An industry association representing Australian companies in the Computer and Video Game Industry, the Interactive Entertainment Association of Australia's (IEAA) is administered by a Board of Directors comprising senior executives from entertainment companies.
Both ACMI and Nintendo were awarded the prize for Best Contribution to Forwarding the Industry for bringing the hugely successful Game On exhibition to Melbourne audiences, its exclusive season at ACMI running from March through to July 2008.
Inviting audiences to play their way through the history of videogames, Game On attracted over 150,000 people through the doors during its four month run - more than previous hosts in London, Chicago and Hong Kong.
ACMI's current major exhibition Correspondences, Víctor Erice and Abbas Kiarostami runs until Sunday, November 2.
