a new generation of imaginations

David Bowie in Labyrinth
So you loved Labyrinth growing up? Hundreds of parents, aunties and uncles, siblings and grandparents feel the same and are flocking to give their kids the opportunity to fall for Jim Henson's timeless classic at ACMI this winter.

It seems we at ACMI have tapped into a special feeling of nostalgia, with families flocking to the Kids' Flicks screenings to share this enchanting story of a girl who embarks on a journey in a mystical world to save her baby brother.

Since its release in 1986, Henson's definitive feature-length film, produced by fantasy-film powerhouse George Lucas, has continued to capture the imagination of kids, adults and cult fans alike. Displaying a stunning level of innovation using puppets and marionettes with futuristic special effects, this feature film is one of the hallmarks of Henson's ultimate legacy.

Complete with a quintessentially 80s pop soundtrack composed and performed by David Bowie, who plays the Goblin King (clad in a synthetic fabric of exceptional elasticity!) it is no wonder today's adults are still spellbound.

Share the magic of this classic with a new generation or just limber-up for our Focus On Jim Henson season coming to ACMI in September. Whatever your reason, don't miss your chance to see Labyrinth on the big screen! More here
