Wiz kids put the pocus into hocus
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Break the spell of school holiday boredom.
Filled with a grab bag of tricks, our school holiday program will charm any kid with a high tolerance for excitement.
It all begins with a medley of magical films in free Animated Wizard Kid's Flicks, a concoction of four short films including Starbreaker, a sci-fi tale about two space-roving children who get trapped in the gravity web of an intergalactic wizard.
On the eve of the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, we take you back to where it all started to relive the cinematic thrills of JK Rowling's timeless tales of adventure. We're screening all five Harry Potter films over two weeks - or alternatively, kids can prove their superhuman powers of endurance in a one-day Harry Potter movie marathon on Tuesday 30 June or Wednesday 8 July. Now that's the kind of commitment that separates true fans from befuddled Muggles!
And now, for our next trick. Little people can weave big tales in our special animated workshops designed to coincide with Puppets at Fed Square.
Kids in the Studio will turn humble clay into an animated puppet story using stop motion animation and modern digital techniques. Cast in the role of master storyteller, we only hope they use their powers for good.
School holidays at ACMI - it's a ministry of magic.
