seeking the next big thing
Are you the next big thing in filmmaking? If you're a school student and reckon you've got what it takes to make your own flick, game or animation, why not enter Screen It?
Australia's national filmmaking competition for school-aged students is calling for individuals and groups to submit works responding to the theme of 'Australian Identity'.
ACMI has already received registrations from all corners of Australia and, with under two months to go until the close of registrations, students are encouraged to get cracking!
Entries can be submitted in one of three categories: live action short film, computer game or animated film and there are separate competitions for primary and secondary school students. A panel of industry experts will judge all entries and there are some great prizes up for grabs.
Finalists are granted a unique opportunity to be exhibited at ACMI, putting them alongside some of the greatest filmmakers of all time. The works will become part of the permanent ACMI collection and will be accessible to the public via video on-demand outlets at ACMI in Federation Square and online at the ACMI website. As the official media partner for Screen It in 2008, Leader Newspapers will be exhibiting winning entries for the first time at the close of the competition at the Leader Newspapers website www.leadernews.com.au.
Screen It registrations close on Friday 26 September, with entries closing on Friday 15 October. Click here to find out more.
