The 10 Conditions of Love
Causing something of a stir at last year's Melbourne International Film Festival, Jeff Daniels exposes the ruthless oppression of the 20 million Uyghur people, a Muslim minority in Western China. At enormous personal expense, Rebiya Kadeer has taken a stand for her people, whilst exiled in the USA.
A panel discussion hosted by Peter Kraus, chair of the Australian Film Critics Association, will follow the screening on Saturday 19 June.
"Just like the Dalai Lama, Rebiya Kadeer strikes fear in the hearts of China's leaders like no US or UN President can, because in those hearts the Chinese leaders know - consciously or unconsciously - that a single voice speaking for the oppressed millions under their rule is heard loud and clear."
