Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard
Directors Lynn-Maree Milburn and Richard Lowenstein (Dogs in Space) have crafted a fitting tribute to this Melbourne musical genius with Autoluminescent, one of the hottest tickets at the 2011 Melbourne International Film Festival.
An impressive who's who of the entertainment world have come together to celebrate the influential post punk indie guitarist and tortured artist Rowland S. Howard, including The Birthday Party and The Boys Next Door founder Nick Cave, and musicians Mick Harvey, Henry Rollins, Lydia Lunch and Thurston Moore. Filmmaker Wim Wenders also appears, having included performances of Howard in his 1987 film, Wings of Desire.
The screening on Saturday 17 December will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session with the directors, Lynn-Maree Milburn and Richard Lowenstein, and producer Genevieve McGuckin. Hosted by the Australian Film Critics Association (AFCA).
