The Chain Reaction
The Chain Reaction
Riding on the wave of Mad Max mania, The Chain Reaction dips into the same genre pool, as its story takes second place over its fetishistic car chase sequences.

Not coincidently, the action scenes were mostly supervised by the film's second unit director, George Miller. There's even a blink and you'll miss it cameo from Mel Gibson as an unshaven garage mechanic.

The breathlessly-paced plot involves a nuclear spill (a topical subject at the time because of the Three Mile Island incident) and a nefarious corporation's attempt to cover it up at all costs.

With Steven Bisley, Arna-Maria Winchester, Ross Thompson, Ralph Cotterill and Hugh Keays-Byrne. Cinematography by Russell Boyd.

30th anniversary screening.
