The Last Days of Chez Nous
Beth (Lisa Harrow) is a successful novelist who runs her career and inner-city household, Chez Nous, with great energy and humour.
She does this despite her hectic life with her French husband (Bruno Ganz), her carefree teenage daughter (Miranda Otto) and a new boarder (Kiri Paramore).
The return of her younger sister Vicky (Kerry Fox) sparks a chain of events which escalate in the intense heat of an Australian Summer and could spell the last days of Chez Nous. Also stars Bill Hunter.
Recently restored 35mm print.
A Q&A session follows the screening on Saturday 30 June, which will look at the buoyant Australian film industry of the early 1990s and the success of the many female Australian directors to come from this era. With special guest Jan Chapman, producer of the The Last Days of Chez Nous and The Piano.
