The CupDirector Simon Wincer (The Lighthorsemen, Phar Lap) returns to the stables for another equine yarn. This time around, he tells the story of the 2002 Melbourne Cup and the triumph over tragedy for jockey Damien Oliver (Stephen Curry) following the death of his brother (and fellow jockey) Jason the week before.
In his last major feature film, Bill Hunter plays the role of legendary horse trainer Bart Cummings. The film also stars Brendan Gleeson as Media Puzzle's Irish trainer, Tom Burlinson, Daniel MacPherson and Shaun Micallef.
