Plasticized follows the 5 Gyres Institute as they embark on the first scientific expedition to explore plastic pollution across the South Atlantic Ocean.

This remarkable film is an eye-opening look at one of the Institute's global missions - studying the effects and scale of plastic pollution around the world.

The film reveals the insidious reach of single-use plastics in an already fragile oceanic ecosystem, whilst confronting the price of convenience in the uncertain future of our environment. A Q&A session with filmmaker and Melbourne-based editor Michael J. Lutman will follow the screening.

Plasticized screens with Waste Earth, a five minute animation on consumerism by Cassia Itamoto.
