Brian De Palma's funnier, satirical sequel to
Greetings stars Robert De Niro (reprising his role from the earlier film) as a Vietnam dropout living in Greenwich Village who begins making 'peep art' movies for porn king Joe Banner (Allen Garfield) by voyeuristically filming his neighbours in their apartments.
He gets involved with some whacky urban terrorism and develops an association with a radical black power group whose performance work 'Be Black, Baby' gives the film some of its most bizarre sequences.
De Niro is young, handsome and fabulous, his pre-method performance sparkling with a rough-hued naturalism that would be polished to extreme professionalism over the decade that followed.
