Taxi Driver
Taxi-driving, pill-popping, Vietnam vet Travis Bickle (De Niro) descends further into his solitary world of madness after a thwarted attempt at dating the beautiful Betsy (Cybill Shepherd). In the weeks that follow, he emerges armed-to-the-teeth and hell bent on a moral crusade to 'wash all the scum off the streets'.

A chance encounter with child hooker, Iris (Jodie Foster) and her pimp (Harvey Keitel), leads Bickle to unleash his specific brand of moral justice, concluding in one of the screens most chilling shootouts.

Nearly 30 years later, Taxi Driver still has a powerful currency. Stunningly shot by Michael Chapman, De Niro's performance crafts a commanding portrait of a solitary man buckling under the weight of mental illness and modern life.
