Videogames allow us to step inside the skin of a host of different characters, from superheroes, ghosts and detectives, to elves, kings or even pieces of pie. In this session we take a look at a few of those moments when we get to see through someone else's eyes.

By looking at a sample of game characters through the ages we explore what makes certain characters work, why they get under our skin, and how technology has contributed to the creation of some of the most iconic images and moments in gaming history.

In this session you will also get the chance to meet a group of collectors who will astound you with their rarely seen, character-based memorabilia.

Panel members include Helen Stuckey (curator and academic), Daniel Golding (academic), David Surman (Pachinko Pictures) and Leena van Deventer (Tech Talk Radio). Entertainment will be provided by Dot.AY.

Curated by ACMI and Freeplay and presented by Film Victoria.
