Roger Ramjet
The Melbourne International Animation Festival is back at ACMI and with more than 300 animated films from 30 countries there promises to be something for everyone.
Roger Ramjet and his creator Fred Crippen rocket into the 2007 MIAF program with a selection of the most brilliant and cheesiest episodes of the Roger Ramjet animated television series.
The session will show off the simplicity and pure genius that made the 60s series so legendary.
Fred has also curated a retrospective of must-see animated films especially for the festival.
Also make sure not to miss The History of CG Animation - The View from Siggraph.
The annual Siggraph conference is one of the most important gatherings for those working in the digital space.
Siggraph chair, John Finnegan, has gone back over thirty years of archives to trace the evolution of Computer Generated animation as an artform.
Other highlights of this year's festival include Masters of Polish Animation, curated by the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and an Australian Panorama, showing a selection of work from local animators.
Tickets can be purchased online here or find out more about the festival at the MIAF website
...and be sure to stay tuned to this station for more animation news.
