Screen Worlds Education Tours

Screen Worlds: The Story of Film, Television and Digital Culture is an exhibition spanning over 100 years of the moving image, from pre-cinematic objects and forms to today's immersive media.

The exhibition contains 220 screen-based displays, over 30 hours of moving image content, including specially commissioned works, and fascinating artefacts and memorabilia.

Screen Worlds gives students the opportunity to think critically about the moving image, to create work and manipulate its forms, and to understand the integral role it plays in our lives.

Teachers can lead their students on a self-guided tour, or can book an educator-led tour designed to provide the background knowledge to explore the themes of the exhibition.

ACMI Education provides an education resource containing Student Activities and Teacher Notes to ensure a successful visit to Screen Worlds.

The Screen Worlds exhibition offers a permanent and unique teaching resource that enables schools to develop stimulating experiential programs supporting all three strands of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) at all levels of schooling, including VCE, VET and VCAL.

Screen Worlds particularly complements and supports the Discipline-based Learning domains of English, Humanities (History, Geography), The Arts, and Science; the Physical, Personal and Social Learning domains of Personal Learning, Interpersonal Development and Civics and Citizenship; and the Interdisciplinary Learning domains of Communication and Thinking Processes.

Bring your students to ACMI and combine a tour of this fascinating and inspiring exhibition with one of our engaging workshops or seminars.
