Noodle
At thirty-seven, Miri (Mili Avital) is a twice-widowed El Al senior flight attendant whose ordered existence masks a still-unresolved sense of loss.
When a Chinese migrant worker is summarily deported from Israel, Miri is alarmed to discover that the woman's young son has been left behind. The drama that unfolds as Miri and her intrepid circle of family and friends attempt to reunite the child, affectionately nicknamed 'Noodle', with his mother in Beijing is genuinely affecting and beguilingly free of sentiment.
Indeed the supporting cast add immeasurably to proceedings, led by the wonderfully caustic Anat Waxman, as Miri's sarcastic sister Gila, and Alon Aboutboul as Gila's long-suffering husband, Izzy.
