My Week with Marilyn
In the summer of 1956, Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe travelled to England with her playwright husband, Arthur Miller, to star opposite Sir Laurence Olivier in The Prince and the Showgirl.
Adapted from the memoir by Colin Clark, a then twenty-three year old aspiring filmmaker employed as a production assistant on the UK set of the film, My Week With Marilyn is a tender, whimsical and nostalgic account of Clark's time in thrall to the fascinating movie icon.
In a perfect stroke of casting, Michelle Williams (Meek's Cutoff) embodies Monroe's capriciousness, allure and vulnerability. Kenneth Branagh lends solid support in the role of Olivier, alongside Judi Dench, Julia Ormond (as Vivien Leigh), Emma Watson and, in the role of Colin, talented English thesp, Eddie Redmayne.
