The Boat That Rocked
Anchored off England in defiance of 1960s British broadcasting laws, 'pirate' DJs broadcast pop music to a public eager to cast off the shackles of a more conservative era.
The second feature from Love Actually writer-director Richard Curtis (whose writing credits include TV's The Vicar of Dibley and cult Rowan Atkinson vehicle Blackadder) brings together a cracking ensemble of talent that includes Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman (Mary & Max) and Kenneth Branagh.
Emma Thompson turns up in a fun cameo and the whole rollicking enterprise is carried along on a soundtrack of 'fab' tunes from the era, including the likes of The Stones, The Kinks and Dusty Springfield.
