Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings, The Road) is John Halder, a literature professor living a 'good', unremarkable life in 1930s Germany.

When his book exploring euthanasia is enlisted by powerful political figures, Halder finds himself co-opted by a regime he mistrusts.

While his career advances and his personal circumstances rise on the tide of nationalism and prosperity, it masks the insidious reality of Halder's new status.

Jason Isaacs, Jodie Whittaker and Mark Strong lend solid support in a film based on the acclaimed play by CP Taylor.

"A very arresting and original perspective on the Nazi era.I was riveted from beginning to end" Hollywood Life
