Charade
Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn teamed up on screen for the first time in this breezy romantic caper.
Director Stanley Donen injects a fair dose of thrills, suspense and black comedy, in an entertaining 'chase' film that makes the most of its elegant Paris locations.
Hubert de Givenchy continued his felicitous on-screen collaboration as Hepburn's principal costume designer. Their winning partnership saw the svelte starlet don gorgeous gowns by the French designer in 1955's Funny Face and, most famously, Breakfast at Tiffany's in 1961.
Composer Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer received an Oscar nomination for the film's stand-out title track. Character actors Walter Matthau, James Coburn and George Kennedy round out a solid supporting cast.
