perception, body, space & landscape transformed by the moving image
Transfigure explores transformations of perception, body, movement, space and landscape to reveal tensions and wonder between technology and nature, identity and image.
Transfigure is the fourth major exhibition presented by ACMI in it's vast subterranean Screen Gallery.
A specially curated Cinema Program, Screen Lounge Programs, Public Imaging, Educational Activities and Special Events, which include tours, curatorial and artist talks, accompany and explore the key themes.
Experiential, interactive, dynamic, reflective, multivalent - works by 15 artists from 6 countries transfix our gaze, transform our perceptions and transmute our imagining of future nature.
