As part of our recent TV50 exhibition, and to mark the actual anniversary of television broadcasting, ACMI gave the Russell family from Ballarat their 15 minutes of fame.
The Flinders Street airlock entrance to ACMI was transformed into a mini lounge room using two couches, a rug, a TV, a coffee table and lamp. The Russell family were locked in to embark on a television marathon. For 50 continuous hours they ate, slept and watched TV for the grand prize of a year's access to any ACMI movies they desire.
Thanks to ACMI Lounge for keeping the Russell family well nourished, and to Peter Alexander for their comfy viewing attire.
